MY PRIORITIES
Fully Funded Education
Our kids deserve a fully funded education system—one that meets every student's needs. I will collaborate with partners across Oregon and lobby the state to ensure our schools get the resources they need to thrive, and I will ensure that SPED is at the forefront of this work.
Literacy & Academic Achievement
Raising reading, math, and science scores—especially for students of color, low-wealth communities, and kids experiencing disabilities—is a top priority. Literacy is liberation, and I am committed to making sure every child has access to the support they need to thrive.
Supported Teachers & Educators
Our schools function as ecosystems, and when resources are cut, we witness its effects on students' behavior and academic performance. I will always advocate for the preservation of student-facing positions and prioritize funding for roles that foster a healthy school culture and climate.
Equitable & Inclusive Schools
I will champion the Soft Neighborhood Model to balance enrollment while keeping kids in their communities and fighting racial and economic segregation. Supporting the community school model will ensure families have access to essential resources, services, and a voice in decision-making while strengthening schools and communities.
